About the Overland Park Orchestra

The Overland Park Orchestra is a volunteer orchestra sponsored in part by the City of Overland Park. Since its inception in 1973, the orchestra has played for both children and adults at a variety of venues and performs regular concerts which feature pops and symphonic favorites.

In recent years, the orchestra has provided music for the American Youth Ballet’s annual production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and presented a collaborative opera gala and performances of Carmen and Amahl and the Night Visitors with the Lawrence Opera Theater. The orchestra performs symphonic masterworks from history's greatest composers at regular concerts throughout each season. The orchestra also showcases the new stage at Thompson Park in Downtown Overland Park with fun-filled pops concerts each season.

The Overland Park Orchestra is grateful for continued support from all of our sponsors and hopes to inspire a new generation to love music.
