Following his appearance as Guest Conductor for their opening concert, The Overland Park
Orchestra is pleased to name Raffaele Cipriano as its new permanent conductor.
Dr. Cipriano is an Italian conductor, vocal coach, pianist and composer as well as a
computer scientist. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Orchestra Conducting from
the University of Kansas, a Ph.D. in Computer Science, and degrees in piano, choral
conducting and composition. He has extensive conducting experience in Europe as well as
at KU and in the Kansas City area, where he also directs the Philharmonia of Greater Kansas
City.
